We welcome and thank everyone who is online, sharing in the worship, and wish all of you the hope, joy, peace, and love that is promised by the birth of Jesus!
Today is the third day of Christmas. Did you know that Christmas has 12 days? The 12 days of Christmas is the period that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the Three Wise Men. Christmas begins on December 25 and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings' Day) when the Wise Men arrive at the manger of Jesus. During the 12 days of Christmas, we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew this was no ordinary baby. The prophets of the Bible had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child. Why did God send His son to this sometimes cruel and hard world? He sent Jesus to us so that one day, He would grow up to become a very important part of history. The birth of Jesus is a gift and a story of joy, peace, love, and hope. At Christmas, we as Christians believe that God's greatest gift of love was Jesus, the Savior of the world. During the 12 Days of Christmas, we light the CHRIST Candle. The Christ Candle represents the light that the Son brought into the world when he was born a little baby, God in the flesh.
Karácsony napján, december 25-én Jézus Krisztus megszületését ünnepeljük. A kereszténységnek a húsvét mellett karácsony második legnagyobb, gyakorlatilag legjelentősebb, legelterjedtebb ünnepe, egyben világszerte a szeretet, az öröm, a békesség, a család, az otthon ünnepe.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[a]), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[b]
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you may now dismiss[c] your servant in peace.
30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,
31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and the glory of your people Israel.”
33 The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
