Január 29-én, Hegedűs Endre zongoraművész koncertezett templomunknál.
A fellépés majdnem két órát tartott, amit a hallgatóság újabb kívánságai hosszabbítottak. Köszönet Hegedűs Endre zongoraművésznek e kellemesen gazdagító alkalomért! The First Hungarian Reformed Church of Los Angeles presented the Piano Music of Liszt, Bartk and other Masters performed by the critically acclaimed Endre Hegeds on January 29th.

The exceptional live performances of Endre Hegedűs - the tonal beauty and clarity of his playing - have caused international critics and audiences alike to designate him as one of the most distinguished piano soloists in the world. In 1980 he graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary as a pianist, both as a performing artist and teacher. His professors were István Antal, Zoltán Kocsis, András Schiff, Ferenc Rados and Anna Hajúd. Currently he is working in the same institute, the Franz Liszt University, as a professor of piano.
After having completed his studies, Endre Hegedűs took several piano master courses from Bruno Leonardo Gelber and Tamás Vásáry. Hegedűs was awarded prizes at ten international piano competitions. He won first prize at the prestigious Rina Sala Gallo in Monza and first prize at Rachmaninov International Piano Competition in Morcone, Italy, and second prizes at the International Piano Competition in Sydney, Australia and the Dino Ciani Competition of the Milan Scala, Italy. As a soloist and chamber music partner he regularly gives concerts in Hungary and abroad - the total number of his public appearances exceeds 1,800. He has performed throughout Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the former Soviet Union and the United States.
In March 1999 the famed Steinway Center New York conferred on him the title "Steinway Artist". In 1999 England chose him as among the best three hundred active pianists in the world today. On March 15, 2000, the Year of the Millennium, he was awarded the Franz-Liszt-Prize by the Minister of Hungarian National Cultural Heritage.
