SAD NEWS: We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved friend and former member, Chief Elder, Organist and more, Margaret Saltzer, who passed away on May 4th. Words cannot describe how much she meant to our Congregation and how grateful we are for how much she contributed to the life of our church. May she rest in peace.
Margaret Szabó Saltzer
1928 – 2021
Margaret Szabó Saltzer, aged 92, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away peacefully during the early evening hours of May 4, 2021 with her children by her side. Born in 1928 in Oakland, California to the late Rev. Anthony Szabó and his wife Mária, Margaret spent many happy years in Los Angeles and Sierra Madre prior to moving to Carson City, Nevada in the late1980's to be closer to family.
Margaret is survived by her loving children Katherine, Ilonka, Nancy, Louis, Gigi and their families. She is also survived by her sister Martha and her family, as well as many other relatives and countless treasured friends, near and far. Deeply inspired by her Father, Margaret spent her life dedicated to serving God and community at the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Los Angeles (United Church of Christ). Over many decades at the First Church, she served as: Organist, Pianist, Fellowship Coordinator, Youth Leader, Choir Director, Chief Elder and more. Words cannot adequately describe how much she meant to the Congregation of the First Church and the Congregation's profound gratitude for her service. Margaret was loved and respected by many. She touched innumerable lives with her grace, wisdom, love and kindness and she will be deeply missed. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her and may she rest in peace. Margitka, nyugodj békében. Emléked legyen áldott.

2021. május 4-én hosszú, szép, boldog életének 92. évében befejezte mulandó földi útját és örökre megpihenve hazaérkezett Megváltójához, akit hűséggel szolgált és dicsőített.
Édesanyánkról hálaadó istentisztelet keretében később fogunk megemlékezni, és református szertartás szerint kísérjük utolsó útjára.
Gyászolják: gyermekei, unokái, dédunokái, testvére,
rokonai, barátai és számos tisztelői.
